Huge clouds of steam are blowing skywards and It seems that the birds, rabbits and lynxes are drifting out of the smoke, exhaling their majestic presence into the air. It is warm and the atmosphere is dominated by a range of purple and pink hues. I hold my breath. I don’t want anybody or anything interrupting the mesmerizing beauty of the moment. With this body of work I wanted to create a tantalizing dreamlike ambience and pull the viewer into an image of two opposing subjects: Nature and the man-made.

The soft and organic form of an animal is a bizarre juxtaposition to a detailed and refined industrial landscape. Industrial places always attracted me. I feel enticed by the size and the space they occupy. I like how enormous clusters of pipes become jewelry-like shapes when they reach the top of a building structure. Industrial architecture mirrors humans’ effort to discover new territories and to enhance quality of life. They embody one aspect of progress of the human mind.

I am not afraid that the world will end because of human failure. I know the spirit of the wild divine is inextinguishable anchored in us at all times.
